Driftwood art

Driftwood art is a word that I came up with myself, but it describes what is going on here.

To make my driftwood art I proceed as follows.

First of all, a nice piece of driftwood has to be found. For that I go to Kvien, a large reservoir close to here. And then just wander and search. It should be nice hard wood and have a distinct shape. I have to see part of an animal in it. I don't always see it right away. If the wood is beautiful enough, it will be taken to the studio anyway. There I will copy the rest or part of the animal with coarse clay. I like that it looks rough against the water polished wood.

I also make commissioned animals.
